‘Want Respect’ is a national communications campaign aimed at sexually active/experimental 15-18 year olds and aims to persuade them to use a condom by showing them how it will affect what they care about most – their reputation. Using a combination of street art, music and film, the campaign aims to reach those most ‘at-risk’ and talk to young people in their own language and on their level about the importance of always using a condom.
While we live in a generation where teen pregnancies are a problem, 'Want respect and 'Jump Off TV' do not want to force feed young people the same old facts and consequences about not using a condom, but instead they want to reinforce the fact that unsafe sex can have its problems and can be putting their lives at risk. Waking up and remembering that you have had unsafe sex can be a nerve-racking and frighting situation to be in, so they are on a mission to stop these situations from happening.
Jump Off’s most prolific lyricists, Respek BA and Reain aka Wha’s His Face, have freestyled 30-second video clips promoting safer sex and shunning unprotected sex.
