The Scene Magazine Interviews: Cyko' Logic

Straight out of the Urban Kaoz camp, Cyko'Logic has been behind the grime scene for too long. Normally on DJ Garnas set, Cyko has been slowly causing a stir beginning in northwest and has started to be noticed by a wider audience...

RepDaScene UK caught up with Cyko'Logic to see whats to see what's happening and to see how things are going with him and the rest of the crew

1. So whats been happening with you?

Ive been busy man, just finish shooting the video for my tune 'I'm down wid it'. The tune 'They're like' is going on TV in the next 2 weeks or so. I've finishing my mix CD/album and the bedroom business campaign is about to launch in December, I'm starting a clothing line, Launching 2 websites...I have no life but things are looking up - lol

2. How long have you been rapping for?

A long time you know.. since i was in school!, only started taking it seriously recently though

3. What do you think of the UK Grime scene right now?

As an MC I think the grime scene is becoming more recognized and people are taking more of an interest into what is actually going on. MC's are becoming able to voice themselves on a higher level thanks to people like Logan Sama and Plasticman who have commercial shows on radio. Soon grime MC's will be just like all these other artists out there.

4. Hows the urban kaoz movement?

It's going very well actually. K7 knows what he's doing. We have new additions to the team including people dealing with the technical stuff such as cameras (keyz.man/keyz to the game), PR, and artist management (Nina Carmella) I won't say too much but artist names: Myself - Cyko'Logic, Lioness, Teeza, Scruface, Grizzly, Strata'G and Joe Buttons! The levels are way high.

5. What are we going to expect from your new documentary "Bedroom Business"?

Expect something very serious and different. It will appeal to a more mature audience the 16-25's. Also a track was made and a music video so promotion is gonna be crazy

6. Were you surprised when the NHS approached you to be part of the project?

I was surprised that I was chosen to be the star of the show but to jump on the track, not really.
I wasn't the only one, there are other artists to look out for.

7. Which current artists do you rate in the grime scene?

I don't really wanna say names but I'll say anyone who's making something of themselves and keeping it real.

8. If you hadn't made it in the Grime scene, what would you like to be doing?

I'd be doing something to get me into the entertainment industry. Either management, presenting or acting...I'm very versatile and I plan on doing these things even now.

9. What do you think makes you stand out from other artists in the scene?

I believe I have something most MC's dream about 'versatility'. A lot of artist's can only do a hand full of things or only sound good on certain tunes, I make every tune I do, once you hear my album you'll hear what I'm talking about - I even spit on rock!!

10. Which artist/s would you like to collaborate with?

Kano, Lupe Fiasco, Sadie Ama, Dizzee Rascal, Lil Wayne, Skepta

11. Are we going to see a new mixtape or album from you anytime soon?

YES. My album 'My names C.. Y...' will be out early next year you can go HMV or any good record shop and cop that!!

12. Any shout outs?

NO. just joking.. the full Urban Kaoz team. My street team (Dimplez, Emma, c.booty... too many names)
And all the people that helped support me.
